New Ways of Knowing Summer Reading Group with Raindrop Foundation San Antonio Led by Dr. Sumeyra Tek and Dr. Dhawn Martin

Sundays, May 23-June 6

1:30-2:30pm

Tuition: $10

In this interfaith gathering, on zoom, we will study Adam Grant’s new book, Think Again: The Power of Knowing What You Don’t Know. This book invites readers to explore what knowledge looks like in a rapidly changing world. What do we know? How does bias or the “silos” or “echo chambers” we inhabit shape what we take as knowledge? How do we remain open to knowing or learning new things? These are a few of the topics we will look at in these discussions.

Dr. Sumeyra Tek is a Board Member for Raindrop Foundation San Antonio. She has a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and currently works as a postdoctoral fellow at UTSA.

Dr. Dhawn Martin is the Executive Director of the SoL Center. She has taught courses in Philosophy and Theology, Civic Engagement, Peace and Power, and Utopias and Dystopias, at Drew University, St. Mary's University, and Hanover College. Her areas of academic study include political theology and peace-making.

When registering, please include your email address so that we may send you the Zoom link and password for the discussion. Registration is required no later than two days before the event.
