4:00-4:30—Breakout Groups Discussions--Optional
Tuition: Free
In this discussion we will explore questions related to happiness, such as:
What is happiness? How has the meaning of happiness evolved or changed over time?
Are happiness and joy the same thing? If yes, how so? If no, how are they connected?
What do different streams of thought—religious, philosophical, medical, psychological—have to say about happiness and its role in being human?
How is happiness related to mental, physical, and spiritual wholeness? Is there such a thing as communal happiness? If so, how is it connected to individual happiness?
Why is happiness a central right in the Declaration of Independence?
What happens if your happiness hinders my happiness? Who decides whose happiness prevails when there are conflicts?
How are life and liberty shaped by happiness, and vice versa…how is happiness shaped by concepts of life and liberty?
Who decides what happiness means? How are equality, equity, and happiness related?
