The political and cultural divides in our country seem to be growing ever more stark. People who were once friends can't find ways to talk to one another. Even our families are divided. How do we create opportunities for people in our congregations and neighborhoods to care about one another across these differences? How do we build the kind of trust needed for dialogue? Is it possible to work together for something we believe in? Join us for a dialogue with Lizzy Gore, organizer with Texas IAF and Interfaith Community Action Network, to hear stories of communities and congregations that have found a way forward.
Lizzy Gore is an organizer with interfaith community Action Network, a project of the Texas IAF. Texas IAF has successfully organized congregations across political lines to win fights on issues affecting everyday people: education, jobs, immigration, public safety, homelessness, housing, and healthcare. She came to organizing seven years ago after 8 years teaching high school.
