How can we become allies of oppressed peoples when we are in the privileged role? This series will teach participants what implicit bias is and how it relates to the LGBTQ+ community in particular. We will learn how ally-ship works and what it means to be an ally in a spiritual and pragmatic sense.

Part 1 (Feb. 18) – Implicit Bias

The first class will discuss terms, including diversity, implicit bias, ally-ship and appropriate gender and sexual orientation identifications. There will be interactive moments where participants will experience bias through collaborative activities. We should leave with the basic tools to continue walking down the path of bias consciousness.
